A Fashion Inspired Sitting Room for a Dear Friend!

Many of you have expressed an interest in seeing more of my work. This is a favorite room I did a few years ago for a very dear friend and client. She had a wonderful sense of color and art and it was such a pleasure to work with her to create a new sitting room where she could host friends and family and share her passion for fashion!! All photos are by Kip Dawkins.

The genesis of this room was happiness and joy. The colors were the main way of achieving this.

Quadrille made the exuberant Ikat on the pair of chairs. The fireplace screen is one I found in England several years ago. The collections are asymmetrically arranged and include Wedgewood "Basalt" which works equally well in traditional and modern interiors.

All the furniture used in this room was already in the space but was reimagined in fresh new fabrics. I loved the more sparse and edited arrangement within the bookcase. The background is Benjamin Moore Flower Blue, a vivid Robin's egg color that makes everyone feel a moment of joy. Colors can be very powerful. The hot pink Hermes Kelly bag was one of the inspirations for the room.
