LOGGIA AND POOL TERRACE

“Love yourself! Because if you can’t love yourself how the hell you gonna love somebody else!” - Rue Paul

Water is sacred and replenishes the soul. When I design pool precincts for resorts, spas, or homes, I always gravitate to colors that reinforce the colors within the landscape. In Tuscany I might use terracotta tones, but for an Aegean resort, or this lovely gathering spot beneath a beautiful blue sky, I embraced a blue palette.  Working with Janus et Cie, Century Furniture, and Barclay Butera I created spaces for dining, lounging, conversations around the fire, or sunbathing by the pool.  Special thanks to Doug Aurand the brilliant landscape architect who quickly became a great friend. The mahogany ceiling of the loggia and the Jerusalem limestone added warmth and a sense of gravitas to a flirtatious and relaxed part of the home.
