BRAND AMBASSADOR

I derive great satisfaction from my work as a Brand Ambassador. I limit myself to no more than three clients at a given time, to avoid any potential conflict of interests, and as the work is demanding but very rewarding given the significant impact for brands, I believe in.  I am currently Brand Ambassador for Tomlinson Companies, a NC based upholstery manufacturer with an impeccable pedigree spanning more than a century. I have recently signed with 60 Grit Studios, a Los Angeles based fabricator of astonishing installations for global companies such as Dior, Nike, and Disney. My clients engage me to help them expand their visibility within the design community, both the residential and the commercial sectors. By focusing on brand messaging, the expansion of social media and direct marketing, we enhance brand recognition and set the stage for new business relationships. My endorsement of their products and services, my insider introductions to key decision makers, and my ability to get them publications and speaking opportunities add tremendous value to their brands.

HOSPITALITY CONSULTANT

My hospitality consulting is twofold. Firstly, I have had the opportunity to help well established manufacturers, like Tomlinson Companies, one of America’s premiere upholstery makers for more than a century, expand their reach into the lucrative hospitality sector. My work with manufacturers includes a careful review of their existing website and messaging programs, and an evaluation of their industry credentials relative to the hospitality sector, that results in a strategic plan to expand and promote these capabilities. Greater still is the value of my endorsement and access to my substantial network within the hospitality world.  Using social media platforms, business networks, publishing connections, and presentations at the major industry conferences, I place their brands front and center before a new audience and most importantly expand their revenue base.

The second type of Hospitality Consulting is my work with design firms that wish to expand their practice into the hospitality sector. As with manufacturers, I provide a careful evaluation of their existing credentials and marketing approach to identify credibility and intrinsic values they may already have in place. Next, I help them frame a hospitality design brand statement that explains the value they can bring to the hospitality design process.  I provide narratives, introductions to industry leaders, and opportunities to participate in key industry events. Most importantly I mentor designers on the expectations of hospitality clients and brands. I guide them through the proposal process, how to structure their drawings and specifications, and how to present and deliver their designs to this unique client type, and how to master the complex installation process.

HISTORIC DESIGN CONSULTANT

Over the course of my twenty-five-year design career, I have had the privilege of working on numerous properties protected by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  Following the guidelines of the Secretary of the Interior and local municipalities, and teaming with consultants from various preservation institutions, I have successfully guided the restoration and sensitive renovation of important structures. Moreover, I have used my graduate degrees in Architectural History to provide critical research and informed design narratives that celebrate and document the history of buildings and resorts being renewed and given a new future as a viable part of the built environment. I offer my services to architects, designers, and owners that wish to proceed in a respectful way when restoring parts of our material culture.
